Meal Plan Information
Meal Plan Options
All students living in the residence halls (West, East and Maria halls) and all first-time freshmen living on campus are required to have a meal plan for the full academic year. A student is automatically assigned Meal Plan B upon placement in a residence hall or if they are a first-time freshman, and if students submit a Meal Plan Confirmation Form (emailed over the summer) it will be updated before their arrival to campus. Meal Plan holders are able to change their meal plan during the add/drop period of each semester (first week of classes). After the add/drop deadline, their meal plan choice is locked in for the remainder of that semester.
Residents assigned to an apartment space are not required to have a meal plan, but can purchase a meal plan, if interested, by submitting the Meal Plan Confirmation form emailed in the summer. Meal plans for apartment residents can only be added, changed or canceled during the add/drop period of each semester (first week of classes). After the add/drop deadline, their meal plan choice is locked in for the remainder of that semester.

Meal Plan Frequently Asked Questions
Meal points are spent dollar-for-dollar at on-campus dining locations. Everything is priced 脿 la carte, and you pay for what you get. Points decline as they are spent, just like dollars. Points not used during the fall semester carry over to the spring semester. Points not used by the end of the academic year are forfeited.

Residents residing in East, West or Maria Hall and first-time freshmen are required to have a meal plan and cannot cancel it. If they have a concern about their dining experience, they may contact Dining Services staff or housing@webster.edu for assistance.
Residents living in apartment areas and have selected a meal plan may cancel their meal plan during the add/drop period of each semester (first week of classes) by emailing housing@webster.edu.

There are a variety of factors to consider when selecting a meal plan. Things to consider are how many times a day the student plans to eat on campus (for example, do they think they will go eat a full breakfast, or have a granola bar in their room before class?), and what type of food they plan to eat.
Typically, the most efficient way to use the meal plan is to use the Block Meals (meal combos) for most meals, and then the points for treats or smaller snacks.
Most students do well with the middle meal plan, Meal Plan B. If a student has a very busy schedule and plans to eat less on campus, Meal Plan C might be a better fit. If a student is planning to exclusively eat on campus, or likes to split up their day with multiple meals, Meal Plan A might make more sense due to unlimited Block Meals. Blue & Gold Meal Plans offer ultimate flexibility, so students with very specific dietary habits might benefit from this plan. Know that since the Blue & Gold Meal Plan is all ala carte, some students struggle to budget their meal plan for the entire semester.

Gorlok Bucks
Gorlok Bucks require a separate contract and are not part of the meal plan. Gorlok Bucks may be used at selected off-campus restaurants to offer more variety and longer hours of service to campus residents. Gorlok Bucks can also be used at on-campus locations. If used on campus, the purchase will be tax-free and discounted for items purchased. All balances remaining on Gorlok Bucks will be forfeited after 18 months of inactivity. Any unused Gorlok bucks cannot be refunded. You may purchase Gorlok Bucks by coming to Housing and Residential Life Office in West Hall.
