Over five weeks, parents and children will enjoy 40-minute sessions filled with songs, stories, movement, and instrument play, nurturing children’s musicality and rhythm. Kids will build listening skills, confidence, and joy alongside family and friends.
Requirements: children must be accompanied by their caregiver.

Pop Songwriting Camp
June 2–6, 2025

Grades 9–12
Explore pop, rock, folk, or indie songwriting in a supportive environment. Learn techniques in melody, lyrics, and structure, and receive personalized feedback from experienced instructors.
Requirements: Must be able to accompany themselves on piano, guitar, ukulele or other harmonizing
instrument.

Flute Camp
June 2–6, 2025
2–5 p.m.
Grades 7–12
This immersive camp focuses on skill development through warm-ups, tone and intonation work, and breathing techniques. Led by experienced instructors and featuring guest artists like Jeannie Baxtresser and Keith Underwood.
Requirements: one year in school band program or private instruction.

String Orchestra Camp
June 9–13, 2025
9 a.m.–12 p.m.
Grades 2–12
With three skill levels determined by a pre-camp survey, participants receive tailored instruction. Led by expert educators, campers enhance their technique, ensemble skills, and musicality through rehearsals, sectionals, and activities. Culminating event: concert.
Requirements: one year’s experience playing instrument and reading music (quarter and eighth notes,
minimum).

Chamber Music Encounter
June 9–13, 2025
1–5 p.m.
Grades 7–12
Advanced middle and high school string and piano students perform in trios, quartets, and quintets, enhancing musicianship, collaboration, and communication. Guided by expert faculty, students engage in coachings, rehearsals, and masterclasses culminating in a final concert.
Requirements: Audition Required. Review playing level requirements.

Band Camp
June 23–27, 2025

Grades 7–12
This week-long experience, led by expert instructors, includes full band rehearsals, sectionals, and interactive workshops. Designed for both intermediate and advanced musicians. The camp concludes with a final performance with both bands.
Requirements: one year in school band program or private instruction. Auditions (for placement)
required.

Summer Composition Intensive
July 7–18, 2025

Grades 7–12
Develop your compositional voice and explore melody, harmony and orchestration with guidance from experienced composers. The camp concludes with each student’s original composition recorded by professional musicians - a lasting showcase!
Requirements: Must be able to read music and play an instrument or sing.

Saxophone Summer Intensive
July 14–18, 2025
9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Grades 7–12
This week-long program hones technical skills, tone and musicianship through personalized instruction and ensemble playing. Led by expert saxophonists, students enjoy masterclasses, sectionals and performance opportunities to elevate their playing.
Requirements: one year in school band program or private instruction. Auditions required.

Ages 6 & up*
Whether you’re a beginner or looking to advance your studies, this six-week summer session is the perfect opportunity to grow as a musician. One-on one instruction is available for 30-, 45-, or 60-minutes on a variety of instruments.
*Requirements: students as young as age 6 can begin on piano and guitar. All ages and abilities
welcome — adults too! Students must have their own instruments.
Tuition: Six 30-minute weekly lessons are $216 total (other lesson lengths available)

Missouri Chamber Music Festival (MOCM)
Adult Chamber Music Intensive

Open to all levels of instrumentalists aged 17 and over
The Adult Chamber Music Intensive places adult instrumentalists in chamber ensembles
of various
sizes and instrumentation to work with faculty players and coaches. The collaborative
faculty include seasoned chamber musicians and educators from St. Louis and beyond.
Over the course of the workshop at the Community Music School of 51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæ,
participants will experience in-person rehearsals, coachings, readings, and faculty
presentations. Young Person Fellowships and Scholarship are available.
Requirements: Participants are encouraged to learn parts in advance of the Intensive. Uploading
samples of playing at time of application encouraged, but not required.
